Press Reviews [11/17/99] Review from Electronic Hub:Golden Light: Oh beautiful! GL begins with a great swathe of ambient guitar plucks that sitswell underneath the mix creating a sunny sound. Think 'Little Fluffy Clouds' !! So nice to hearsome lush female vocals!! I love this track. "...a little ball of golden light..". It's late and I'm tiredbut listening to this just perks me up! Like a hit of warm sun and fruity perfume. The beat isclassic House and the driving bass plays around it funkfitfully! Athena has a very warm and lushvoice. It melds into the music. Head bobbing going on here!! *bob bob* You just have to likethis one! That's all I can say. I'm not a vocalist myself and so I am no expert, but, judging by this,Athena has a classic synthpoppy voice. Husky and warm over the House beat pump. Beautiful.Think Sunscreem and St Etienne. A must listen for electropop fans definitely! I listened twiceand it's in my head :) Sacred: Moody intro. Trip hoppy beats and bubbly dark bass. Definitely a darker atmosphereon this one. Athena's voice is almost pleading here. Echoed and reclining on a tight mix ofmeshy beats and strings. A very short song at just under 3 minutes, but a very enjoyable sojourninto the darkness. Thank goodness I don't need to stay there long, because I prefer the sunlight!Very chill and moody. Now is the Time: A dark and light pulse cloud of strings. Once again, a dark and moodytrack. Hi NRG House kicks and familiar snare/hats combo. "...now is the time...gonna take youto journey's end...over deserts of despair..." Athena's voice, again is very pleading here. But,just as I was really getting into it, the track ended. I would like to have heard a little more I thinkbecause I do enjoy this music and I do like the vocal tone. Athena's Temple are definitely a talented outfit. My fave track is Golden Light for sure. With it'ssunny instrumentation, warm voice and sunpop theme, this is a winner! If it can make me smileand bob my head at 3am, there's something going on here!
