Artist History
LIAR SEES THE LIGHT OF DAY(1995)
Liar started out as a project at the end of the legendary metal sXe h8000 unit 'Wheel Of Progress'. The band has members involved of Congress,
Blindfold and Regression. An extreme and brutal act that would suprise friend and foe.
FALLS OF TORMENT RECORDINGS (1995)
We recorded our debut 'Falls Of Torment' on GoodLife Recordings... after 10 rehearsals and a few shows. 8 songs that will be burned forever in the history of H8000 straight edge metallic hardcore. Non compromising hard-hitting lyrics and music with a sleeve that has been called 'awefull' by most standard hardcore magazines around, the shock effect had been reached. Liar played tons of shows everywhere around, the project turned into a real band.
BERT REPLACES RAF ON DRUMS (1996)
The summer 'Steel Against Steel' tour will be the beginning for Bert. Hailing from the band Sektor on drums for Liar. Raf left the band to do other things in life.
INVICTUS (1997)
1997 was a very hectic year for Liar. We made a recordlabel change, from Goodlife to Genet, and the 'Invictus' recordings saw the day of light in February 1997 Some other songs appeared on the ltd split 7" that was involved in the last issue of the legendary H8000 zine. Liar played a massive amount of shows and toured a bit during this year.
LENNO JOINES LIAR (1999)
The idea of getting a 2nd guitarplayer in the band took shape in 1999. The more than busy Josh was preparing for his family-life and the taking over of his dad's business. We found our man in Lenno, in fact Lennart,
who was Firestone's lead guitarplayer. We played a crazy amount of shows and prepared for the recordings of 'Deathrow Earth'.
DEATHROW EARTH (1999)
The sessions are completed at the Midas studios. Unfortunately, we had to deal with another recordlabel change, back to Goodlife... More shows were done, overwhelming everyone with the more metallic sound of the Deathrow Earth songs. Many metalheads started to appreciate Liar, and we were able to play some metal shows. Gig to remember was the gig with Bolt Thrower.
CHRISTOPHE REPLACES JOSH ON LEAD GUITAR (1999)
Somewhere in May 1999, we played a gig with metalbuddies Aborted, in which Christophe was doing guitars. After the show, Lenno asked him if he would be interested in becoming one of us. Josh was too busy with Congress and the start of his own business, so Christophe considered the opportunity and finally agreed on joining us. Soon after that, we started rehearsing with the new line up and played several gigs. One of them being the Dour Festival.
MATTHIAS REPLACES LENNO ON RHYTHM GUITAR (2000)
Right before the Easter 'Deathrow Europe' tour, Lenno decided to quit the band. We were able to arrange a second guitarplayer pretty soon, being Firestone's other guitar stringer Ward. But he was just staying temporary to help us out. After the tour, we started looking out for another guitarplayer. Hans introduced Matthias to the band, left handed riffer from the band Empathy. The line-up is now stable and will probably last till the end.
LIAR'S HELL (2001)
With the new line-up, it took us a while to find our way around. New songs were written, combining more heavy elements with the earlier sing along parts. In the winter of 2K, we recorded the Liar's Hell album at the CCR studios. The record contains 8 brandnew songs, and reactions have been more than possitive.
Be sure to check it out...
