Artist History
Johnny Tweed was originally formed as The Majors in the spring of 2002. The band officially changed its name to The Johnny Tweed Show after polling several of their friends and choosing between the two finalists: Johnny Tweed and The Playdates. Though the band was evenly split between the two names, Nick reversed his vote after Chris suggested the extended moniker. Bribing Ian with a large shot of Jim Beam made the vote unanimous.
Though this is the first time all four members have played in a single band Nick, Ian, Asher and Chris have known each another for several years, having first met through high-school theater. In that time they have performed in such short-lived combinations as Chewable Relief and The Deaf Mexican Machine.
Ian, Asher and Chris attend college at Pomona, Oberlin and The University of Chicago repectively. Nick is entering his senior year of high school. After a summer of gigging The Johnny Tweed Show is currently finishing up an independent LP for release through MP3.com and is planning a couple of promotional club dates in December.
