Artist description
The prime idea of Kabbal Karma as a sonic concept, have germed in the head of its creator Alix Belial, back to 1994 as he was deeply unsatisfied with its previous bands experiences, to name a few (Varech, Exhumer, Funeral Cortege). Since that period Alix belial has never stopped its very own musical quest, wishing to project himself through its music. He launched its empirical approach of the synthetizer practice. Basically crossing a deeper negative era, the Kabbal Karma music, full of frustrations, was naturally very somber oriented. The first Kabbal Karma recording ever took place in the end of 1995, with astonishing female vocalist Paige Pale, and Ludo Putrid from Exhumer / Himinbjorg, engineering that session in crepuscular philosophy, of inner accomplishement that was the name of this first full album recording. A large space, has been dedicated to vocal improvisation, and from that specific experience, emerged that particular notion of empyrical music, as a real musical concept. In despite of the fact that Alix ignored musical academism, he was influenced by some various sources of sounds, mainly some very talented movie scores writters as Jonathan Elias (children of the corn), John Corigliano (altered states), Maurice Jarre (Jacob’s ladder) and also some avant gardist contemporean composers like Gyorgi Ligeti (requiem, lontano , volumina for organ) or Krystof Penderecki (polish requiem, te deum lacrimosa, threnody for hiroshima’s victims) in the more so called «rock» fields. Alix worships Paul Chain, the italian multitalented musician, that has formed Death SS and Paul Chain Violet Theatre. Also high on the bill, the shadow man keyboardist behind the seminal Black Sabbath, Geoff Nichols. And lastly Mort Garson an american electronic composer, whose black mass lucifer album was the angular stone of that dark hellektronic music genre, back to 1970 ! ! ! In the end, the Kabbal Karma purpose is an endless reflection of human soul and spirit, always considering its part of light and shadow, and possibly every feeling in between. |
