Music Style
The band plays a sort of gothic metal, quite slow songs with clean vocals full of pathos, melodic intertwined guitar riffs and a lot of atmosphere. Someone wrote we played emotional rock/metal |

Artist History
The story of the band begins in the second half of 1996, when two schoolmates, Gianluca and Federico, both guitarists and high school students, come together sharing a passion for music. The two friends begin by playing with a drummer, CQ.
Some months later Lucia, the bassist and Oscar, the singer join the band. Slowly, after playing covers in the beginning, the band begin writing their own songs.
During this period they choose GREYSWAN as monicker. In early 2000, another member completes the line-up: Francesco, on keyboards.
Old songs get modifications and Greyswan start working on new ones. In the month of May of the same year, the band record its first demo. It features 4 tracks and is a live in studio recording. Thanks to good reviews in specialized metal magazines, fanzines and webzines (in Italy and abroad too), Greyswan music spreads outside their area.
In summer 2000 CQ leaves the band, replaced by Luca on drums.
In summer 2001 their second studio experience, they enter a professional studio and record a three track promo cd.
After the recordings, in the beginning of 2002, another line-up change: for several reasons three members leave the band. Some months later Paolo (guitar) and Marcello (bass) join Oscar, Gianluca and Luca.

Between May and June 2001 their second studio experience, they enter the studio and record a three track demo cd.
Some months after recording, another line-up change: Greyswan have found good replacements for bass (Marcello) and guitar (Paolo).
The live activity of the band will start soon again, after it has stopped for a while.
These three tracks included in promo 2001 are just some of their new songs; but Greyswan have a lot of material more and they are working on brand new songs.
The band is looking for a record contract, for a label that can be interested in them and can give them the chance to record a full-lenght album to spread their music.

HATERNAL - "These Greyswan, with their softly sharp sound, made me come goose-flesh all over, since the first listening.... guys, Greyswan really excite and I've been left totally speechless"
Cassandra (www.haternal.bbk.org - + interview - italian)
DOOM-METAL - "....I guess emotional rock-metal would be the best description for their music.... long winded and melancholic tracks with sorrowful clean vocals.... very catchy melody. Greyswan have balanced the mixture between heavy guitars, lush piano and weeping vocals perfectly...."
Aldo Quispel (www.doom-metal.com - english)
BABYLON MAGAZINE - "Two years have gonesince i was waiting to give a 10 to a selfproduced band, but I've never found any products that deserved that much.... in my opinion 10 means that the effort is perfect in its building and its content, and it is able to intensively involve me and catch me during the listening...."
Ettore Rigotti (www.babylonmagazine.net - english/italian)
DIABOLICALZINE - "….this Greyswan demo has completely convinced me; only three tracks, but those songs that leave a strong sign and that hardly you'll stop listening to.... a gloomy and melancholic gothic-metal, in Katatonia style, but in an original and particular way...."
Metaljan (www.diabolicalzine.subito.cc - + interview - italian)
METALLO ITALIANO - "....a dark/gothic-metal played and arranged with big ability.... what I was mostly struck by is the apparent simplicity that seems wrapping up the structure of these three songs, based on hypnotic and simple riffs, where the wonderful voice of Oscar raises.... able to win from the beginning listener's attention and to lead him to a grey and opaque dimension."
Paolo Ponente (www.metalloitaliano.it - italian)
NOCTURNAL HALL - "….compositions are really harmonious, full of emotions and atmosphere, worked out into the smallest details without acting overloaded…. a band who has found its own niche within a special style and has achieved their own sound with self-confidence.... 22 minutes of wonderful music."
Psycho - (www.nocturnal-hall.de - english/german)
NERO OPACO - (www.neroopaco.it - six strings interview - italian)
DISINTEGRATION MAGAZINE - "....lyrics that involve, songs that enrapture the soul: each instrument seems to put the accent on a yearning apprehension, interpreted by a sharp and clean voice...."
Sara De Vita (www.disintegration.it - + interview - italian)
SHAPELESS ZINE - "….think about Anathema from Eternity and Judgement, add the sound of the penultimate Katatonia and the everlasting feeling of My Dying Bride.... but all this more "gothic" and above all more "metal"...."
Moonfish (www.shapeless.it - + interview - italian)
BEHIND THE VEIL - "....Greyswan music is travelling you and taking you to a trip of ethereal wanderings...."
Nikos "William_kidd" Parastatidis (http://veilgr.cjb.net - english)
METAL.IT - "Short but deep.... an unbelievable maturity of composition and a gothic attitude out of the ordinary.... the sensation of dark sadness, wisely balanced with the melodic pleasantness of plots.... a personal way to build songs that makes Greyswan music original and pleasing...."
Antonio "Bloody" Balsamo (www.metal.it - italian)
