    Artist description
It's l980, Bill's on his Boston Bar Tour and Bette's an organist in a small country church...and only God knows...that somewhere down the road, Saloon would meet Sanctuary in a musical partnership that would result in Bill's premier album, "God's Own Man". Bill's long and difficult road to reclaim his childhood faith has yielded a harvest of songs that have been molded by his reliance on what God can and will do in the life of an everyday working man. Bill sings, he writes, he plays, but his main focus is to encourage everyday people to "keep on goin" for God. With a voice that draws you in, Cooper delivers, giving the listener a spiritual boost that wears well now...and for the long haul.

    Artist History
Having played in bands throughout high school and college, Bill went on to work the club circuit in the Boston area, but his talent as a singer/songwriter was overshadowed by his fall into drug and alcohol abuse. By the time he'd finished a hitch in the Marine Corps, Bill was a young husband and father on the brink of losing everything. It was at this point in his life, frightened and alone, that Bill called out to God, and life began again. Through the support of family and friends, Bill found his way to an evangelical church and recommitted his life to Jesus Christ, eventually becoming lead vocalist on the Sunday Worship Team, as well as teaching Sunday School and participating in a men's prayer group. Three years ago, Bill began a songwriting/recording project with Bette Kron at Nightsong Music, which resulted in the November 2000 release of his premier album, God's Own Man.

    Press Reviews
"An evening with Bill and Bette is an evening of praising and worshiping the one true God." -John Cragg, Executive Director, Long Island Youth Guidance "Bill Cooper and Bette Kron's music ministry brings together the experience, the strength, and the hope that is in their lives. This all comes together through the love of the Lord with the Holy Spirit present, the three of them transform any room they are playing in, into the living room of your heart." -Tom MacLeod, Campus Minister, Suffolk County Community College "It's an unlikely duo, a folk rock singer who spent his nights in Boston's bar scene and a local church organist, but this pair has reached beyond their different backgrounds... weaving their individual styles together in a harmonious body of work." -Carolyn Lee, columnist, Long Island Traveler Watchman "We at the church, and I personally give Bill, Bette, and their music, two enthusiastic thumbs up." -George Gaffga, Pastor, Mattituck Presbyterian Church "A concert you could dance and groove to. Whether you were praising, giving thanks, or asking for forgiveness of your sins, there was something going on inside of everyone. Bill Cooper brings the message of the Lord, but he does so in a smooth, comfortable way." -Joseph Cassone, staff writer, East End Beacon
