Artist description
I'm trying to convert my suffering into music. I've yet to succeed. The band's music is created by one tortured soul, alone in the world with his suffering. I realize I am not a great musician... or even remotely talented. In fact, most people that pick up a guitar far surpass me in terms of ability. Regardless, music is what I enjoy, and were it not for my music, I would have no reason to live. If the music sucks to you, you are not obligated to listen to any more of it. Glutton 4 Punishment is influenced by several different styles of music, including Black, Death, and Thrash Metal, Gothic Rock, Classic Rock, and Classical. Each style may not be obviously visible in every song. The recording of the debut CD is currently under way. Tentatively, the CD will contain 6 tracks, but this is subject to change. Here is a list of completed tracks on the upcoming CD: Garden Of Souls, Wretched(Embers), and First Evening. As for the CD itself, I don't honestly believe that anyone would want to spend money to buy the thing, so the songs will be posted here in the order they would appear on the CD. What this means, basically, is that these particular songs are meant to be grouped together for whatever sordid reasons I may have. If you actually want to buy the CD, pretty much in order to get the cover art, etc., I will post the price as the recording process gets close to finishing. |

Artist History
Formed in 1997, the band almost immediately went into a hiatus so that its founder, Patrick, could concentrate on his other band: NEIN, which he co-founded with his stepbrother: Jeremy. Glutton 4 Punishment came out of its temporary retirement in late 1998 for a short time while NEIN was going through a temporary slump. Several songs were worked on, but none reached a finished form. The quality of these recordings was, at their best, poor, as Patrick had little to no decent recording equipment. Within a short time, the band once again went into hiatus. In late 1999 the first performing lineup of NEIN came together, and Patrick's energy was concentrated solely on NEIN. This lineup of NEIN remained together until January of 2001, at which time the fate of the band became uncertain and remains so to this day. As a result, Patrick felt it was time to bring G4P out of its self-imposed retirement and make its existence known to the world. This was done by creating the band's MP3 download site on IUMA.com and, subsequently, on Mp3.com. Songs are currently in "the works." |
