Artist description
Blue Trick's music combines gritty folk, straight
rock & shuffly blues. Soulful vocals & choice
guitar licks complement the ever present lock-step
rhythms. The songs are straightforward &
approachable. But there's a cleverness that keeps
you on your feet.

Artist History
Blue Trick was born in the fall of 1999 in
Raleigh, North Carolina when Charlene Brinster,
Susan Franklin, and Mike Brinster formed a
rock trio to play a fundraiser for a Leukemia
patient. Each member brought different interests
and influences to the band, combining to create a
rootsy blend of rock, blues, country, and folk.
The band plays cover tunes that you don't often
hear on commercial radio along with its growing
list of original songs. Blue Trick's debut CD,
The Way of the Traveler, was released in the
summer of 2000. Their first single from that
effort, "No One," spent a few weeks as the top
download at Raleigh's indie music site
www.duckonbike.com. The band relocated to
Portland, Oregon in the winter of 2001 after a
four-month tour across the US. They settled in
Hood River, Oregon in the fall of 2001 where they
share a home and two dogs, Romy and Roxy. They are
currently working on their second CD, scheduled
for a summer 2002 release. |
