Artist History Del Puckett was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. He started playing guitar at the age of 14. His teen years found him playing in various backyard party bands as well as high school dance bands. He later started a top-40 nightclub band and played in the local Albuquerque bar scene. He quickly developed a reputation as one of Albuquerque’s finest guitar players and was sought after by many bands needing guitarists. In his early 20’s, Del started giving and taking formal guitar lessons. In 1986, Del dropped out of the local bar band scene to persue a career in semiconductors. He started attending the Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute and got an Associate's degree in Laser Electro Optics. During this time Del gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ and became an active Christian. Del continued to play music and started composing original material. He formed several bands where he could play his original music and share the message of Jesus Christ with others. Del started recording his material in the studio and received extensive airplay on one of Albuquerque’s Christian radio stations. Many of his songs entered the top-20 with one reaching #1. Today Del plays with the worship team at Calvary Chapel in Albuquerque, NM and has a home studio where he teaches and records.

Press Reviews I have listened to a lot of guitarist over the years and after listening to Del's arsenal of material I have to say that he belongs in the category with the best! Del played guitar with several successful bands in New Mexico before going solo in his home studio. In his own words: "I had both the liberty and the time to nit pick each part until I was completely satisfied. For the first time in my life I had complete musical expression and as a result I feel as though this project accurately represents me as an artist. " Del's material now leans toward Cool Jazz and believe me he has found himself in this genre. If there were diplomas for obtaining incredible guitar tone? Del would have a Ph.D. shingle hanging on the wall in his studio. He also custom builds his own guitars to get this incredible guitar tone. My favorites from Mr. Puckett are "IPO" and "Y2K1" If you like tasteful Jazz / Rock guitar music you won't be disappointed with this one!
