Artist History
When Geir Engen heard Apache and Kon-Tiki with the Shadows, Sultans of Swing and Tunnel of Love with Dire Straits, early in the 80's, he decided to become a guitar-player. A red Fender Stratocaster was on top of the list of wishes.
After that, he tried to start a band.
And a Fender and a band he got. The band was called Destiny.
In 1990 he started a band in Levanger, Montana, and they played together for 5 years.
Afterwards he played duos and trios and in different bands.
The band Timeless was started in 1998. It began as a boysclub. They met for social activities, coffee drinking and practice. After a while, songs were picked out and the band took form.
Timeless and quality were the headwords for this band.
Since summer of 1999, the band has done a lot of gigs. From Molde in the south of Norway, to Rørvik in the North.
Every day since the mid 90's Geir has written his own music.
And in the fall 2001 he decided to record his first "real" CD.
The CD took 5 months to create, and it's recorded in Stiklestad Soundstudio in Verdal.
The result become a mix of styles which includes rock, blues, roots and pop, with the guitar as the main instrument.
The musicians playing along on the CD are the members of the Timeless band, and other local strengths from the music-environment.
The CD is called "The Long Road" and is released in May 2002. |
