Artist History
Publicide are 4 young upstarts from the north of England, joined by a mutual love of playing music and a loathing of the state of the music scene today. All hailing from Bury, in Lancashire, they have been a unit for almost a year now. In this short time they have written a demo entitled “Statement Of Intent” and are set to record the second half of it in the coming month. Started by Chris in late 2001, the band consists of 4 people with differing musical tastes, which goes towards the eclectic sound the band creates. Describing themselves as “heavy funk rock”, they aim to conquer the world with groove laden sounds and a “fuck you” attitude. On vocals we have Chris Reynerd, a musical chameleon if you will, whose influences range from Eminem to CapDown. Chris is a politically charged individual, who has something to say about everything, and intends to get his voice heard through the music. On Guitars is Tom Bohan, an old skool rocker, who would like nothing more than to tear the heads off every boyband that walks this earth. Plays because he’s sick to death with the shit that plagues his radio, this is a problem he looks to rectify in the future. On Drums, Marc Ridings, a hardcore Punker who wants to change the way the media controls the current music scene, as he believes that once bands lose control of their publicity, they are committing suicide, hence the name “Publicide” On the Bass is Mark Holden, the funky quarter of the band. Mark couldn’t care less about politics and plays because he enjoys playing with different people. He believes that as soon as a band and its memebers stop having fun the band itself dies. Look out for Publicide in their bid to reinvent the face of music! The revolution starts here!!!!
