Artist History
You know how lots of bands have these cool, informative, and eye-catching bios with lots of pretty-boy photos? Well this isn't one of those.
Honey White came into existence quite suddenly one night, at a Mojo Wire gig as a matter of fact. See, back in December 2000 Sean Blashke and Adam Hill were having a pre-gig boxing match and though it was far from a predictable bout, Sean beat the living piss out of Adam. The two friends kissed and made up, promising to forgive and forget over a free pint. After they left, the blood, sweat, and tears left behind on the driveway began to slowly coagulate into new and unrecognizable forms. Springing fully grown from the ancient Isla Vista pavement, the brothers Bryn and Keir DuBois evolved quickly, sprouting limbs that looked like Fender guitars, which sounded like surf music dunked in blood and chocolate. They immediately began to make noise on an epic scale, catching the attention of Brian Wolff, who had gone outside to relieve himself on the side of the shed. "Wow!" he said, "these guys are animals! I have to start a band with them!"
The DuBois brothers had no choice but to agree, and that night they opened for the Mojo Wire. However, at this point they still lacked two (2) things: a drummer and a name, and the Mojo Wire said to them "Gee, that's too bad, cause we would have taken you guys on tour with us. Bye!". The young band agonized over their name, seeking help from all who might give it, but every suggestion sucked. Eventually they simply decided to name the band after a song about hookers, coke, and the devil, despite the fact that they were familiar with none of those things. Finding a drummer was another story, at least until Billy Fedderson, transplanted from Oxnard via Colorado, took pity upon our heroes and consented to man the kit so they wouldn't sound like complete crap.
The new combo built upon the foundations laid by the Mojos that came before and soon created a tower of sound made from the best garage rock/pop/punk/country in town. Proud of what they had accomplished, Honey White then rested for a day, preparing to next take their place among Santa Barbara's favorite bands. Cross your fingers & toes (and whatever else you've got!)- it's gonna be epic.
