Artist History
ELEKTRONIKA BEGAN AS A SPECIALTY COVER BAND IN THE SEATTLE/TACOMA AREA IN 1999. THE IDEA BEGAN BY REMIXING NEW WAVE SONGS OF THE 80’S FROM OUR INFLUENCES SUCH AS: DEPECHE MODE, NEW ORDER, LORDS OF ACID, ERASURE, THE PET SHOP BOYS, THE EURYTHMICS AND
THE SMITHS AND MEDLEY THEM INTO CONTEMPORARY DANCE FAVORITES BY SUCH ARTISTS AS: AMBER, THE SNEAKER PIMPS, ACE OF BASE AND DELERIUM. WE SPENT MONTHS MAKING A SET LIST WITH WORKABLE MEDLIES OF COMPLIMENTARY SONGS. AFTER A YEAR OF PLAYING COVERS, WE
REALIZED THAT WE ENJOYED DISSECTING SONG PARTS AND INVENTING WAYS TO TRANSIT SMOOTHLY INTO OTHER SONGS USING BEAT LOOPS, KEYBOARD RIFFS AND POWERFUL VOCAL MELODIES SO MUCH THAT WE BEGAN EXPERIMENTING WITH WRITING OUR OWN MATERIAL. AT FIRST, WE JUST
RECORDED BITS AND PIECES FOR IDEAS THAT WOULD LATER BECAME OUR SONGS. THEN IN JUNE OF 2000 WE DECIDED TO ACTIVELY BEGIN WRITING AND RECORDING. WITHIN A YEAR, WE HAD OUR FIRST ORIGINAL CD!

Press Reviews
"Cool'80s sounding production qualities, especially the drum
machine, vocals and lyrics are good, my favorite song - "RAIN",
the most amusing song - "POSITRONIC" (the vocal filtering),
the record label that features your style - DIFFERENT DRUM.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity of hearing your music!"

"Your voice (Dawn) is really well developed, it reminds me
a lot of Sarah Cracknell (a la St. Etienne). Not to
pigeon-hole you into cutting a cover, but you guys could
probably easily crack into the pop / pop-dance market
(if that's what you want) by covering one of their songs,
especially "He's On The Phone","Hug My Soul", or one of
their other sleeper hits...anyway, great job!"

"Washington's danceable Elektronika are actually four musicians
who are undescribabely hot. In fact, they're what my local radio
DJ would call "slammin". "Ethereal" starts everything off on a
gentle, groovin vibe, while "Gloss" slows the pace a bit to show
that even electronic gods have hearts, too. Vocalist Dawn Wood has
a beautiful voice that, though it fits the style, is definitely
deserving of a side-venture into the adult contemporary genre.
"Can You Hear Me" soars. Male-fronted "I'll Remember You" reminds
me of good ole '80s New Wave, and brings a smile to my young but
retro-happy face. With some work and a more aggressive electronic
approach, they'll have everyone dancing coast to coast."
