Artist History
Debra DeSalvo earned a reputation as a "notable guitarist" (New York Post) by playing with a bunch of NYC bands, from punks False Prophets to rap-rockers Plastique. Now leading her own band, Debra mixes a strong, passionate voice with sonic rock guitar. Deb's song "Take It Off" opens the film STRIPPED, Jill Morley's powerful documentary about NY strippers, which is distributed nationwide on video/DVD by Vanguard Cinema. Look for the DVD, which includes the music video for "Take It Off," at Blockbuster. |

Press Reviews
"A jockey-sized powerhouse who can wail and crunch...Her references are broad and dirty: Black Sabbath half-lines thrown, a clear understanding of Jimmy Page, the ability to turn half an inch and produce enough feedback to stop a train." --Jana Martin/Pretty Decorating magazine. "
"'Take It Off' is a formidable song"--The Hudson Current
"Her girlish vocals always seem on the verge of exploding into shards that could shred your hands if you touched them."--listen.com |
