Singer/songwriter, Tony Adamo broke down the music barriers on the worldwide web in 2002. Adamo has taken full advantage of the Internet for promotional and distribution purposes. Adamo’s music has consistently gone #1 five different times on five different Internet smooth jazz charts over the last six months. Rhombus Records has signed Adamo to a distribution deal based on the strength of his music on the worldwide web. As of today, December 22, 2002, after two months, the song “Passport” from Adamo’s new CD release, DANCE OF LOVE, is still #1 on Soundclick.com’s smooth jazz charts and # 2 on their straight ahead jazz charts. “Ecstasy,” another song Tony co-wrote with his producer Jerry Stucker, was also #1 on Soundclick.com’s smooth jazz chart. “Ecstasy,” like “Passpor,” consistently topped artists such as Lee Ritenour, Patti LaBelle, Joyce Cooling, Eric Merienthal and Bobby Matos.
Adamo’s music caught the listening ear of John Beaudin of Smoothjazzcanada.com, Canada’s most respected smooth jazz site. Mr. Beaudin is also the drive time announcer at 103.1 the Breeze in Calgary, Canada. Mr. Beaudin liked Adamo’s music so much he interviewed him in November of 2002 and has referred to Adamo as “a refreshing new voice in smooth jazz.” Interview found at www.smoothjazzcanada.com.

Tony Adamo
Dance of Love
(Rhombus)
Smooth jazz is designed to mellow your day. It works even better than that when the singer adds passion and a genuine storyteller’s charm. Tony Adamo creates interest and holds you to it through his suave manner. Most of the songs leave a romantic reminder that surrounds itself with contemporary instrumental sounds and background vocals. Adamo, who recalls the deep baritone of Lou Rawls and the vibrant passion of Tom Jones, makes life easy for loves who just want to agree on something for the moment. His portraits include wordless scatting and lyrical interpretation. Although several selections hamper an otherwise terrific program, Adamo leaves the impression that smooth jazz was designed with the magic of his vocal interpretations in mind. Horns add to the mix, and Ernie Watts enhances ‘Hey Lou’ and ‘Midnight Caf.’ Soprano and alto saxophonist Melecio Magdaluyo contributes to several selections, as backup singer Sandy Griffith lends strong support for the entire program. You can catch a video of Adamo in action at www.moosepix.com
