    Press Reviews
Taken from a show review by hardcoremusic.com. Scattered Fall, First Blood, Time For Living, Beneath The Ashes, Hoods (8/17/2002) Burnt Ramen, Richmond, CA Review by kirby unrest "...Time For Living were up next and these kids are just awesome. True hardcore with lots of two step and mosh parts, great lyrics and a live show that can't be beat. Donny, Gabe, Blaine and Israel come together with a unified love of hardcore but each providing a different take on it. Israel's punk sensibilities, Blaine's metallic riffs, Gabe's brutal drumming and Donny's harsh vocals combine to form Time For Living. Check them out now...." Taken from a record review of hardcoremusic.com Time For Living - demo Review by Dan HL - Added: 6/10/2002 Time For Living, the Bay Area's newest addition to a strong scene based heavily on straight up, NYC-influenced hxc, comes out hard and rocking with their debut demo, a rock solid display of aggression and raw energy. This lineup is pretty much a who's who mix of fledgling and experienced ex and current members from Bay Area bands: Gabe from Lowlife on drums, Israel from Intrepid AAF on bass, Blaine from Pains of Sleep (240) on guitar and Donny of the famed and monumental Hardluck (haha sorry, had to say that) doing vocals. I expected a lineup such as this to bust out some pretty raw and distinguishable stuff, and they definetely live up to those expectations; with the punk-rooted drumming of Gabe, to the fluid street punk and oi bass fills of Israel, Blaine's metal soaked guitar work and Donny's solid and honest vocals and lyrics, this band creates an impressive palette of old school based, yet metal tinged hxc. Posi kids and old school heads should find plenty to like with TFL in the many sing-alongs and fast parts, but kickboxers and metal lovers should appreciate plenty here, thanks to Blaine's noodely hands. Imagine old-style bands like Judge, Powerhouse and Agnostic Front mixed with the heaviness of Bulldoze and Irate, and a dash of Slayer to make things interesting. The highlites here are the great sing-along chorus of "On the Line" followed by the guitar finger tapping breakdown; the heavy chug breakdown in "Angels On Vacation"; and the Iron Maiden-esque intro of "Promises Despised." Time For Living emerges onto the scene with a great debut showing off this band of experienced players' abilites to blend many styles into a great finish. If you're into straight up hxc, but with a bit of surprises then this is for you. http://timeforliving.cjb.net
