Artist description
"Farewell To Kings" have been described by some as one of the best kept secrets in the music business. Combining elements of rock, blues, and roots music with honest heart-felt lyrics, this band from southern Indiana has developed a sound and style that is raw and full of emotion. Since releasing their demo (The Melonpatch Recordings) in May 2002, they've had several songs receive radio air-play. One song, "Cold Month Of December", was #1 most requested song on 100.5 the fox local show "Louisville Rocks" and was also featured on Louisville's 105.1 wlrs local show "KY Fried". Another song "Hero" was getting several plays a day from 96.3 wjaa in Seymour, Indiana. and also held the #1 pos. on mp3.com/acoustic songs in Indiana for most of 2002. In April 2003 they were selected as a top 5 finalist for the "Budweiser True Music Showcase" held at Phoenix Hill Tavern in Louisville, Ky. A self described live band, "Farewell To Kings" has been performing throughout Indiana and the Louisville, KY area the past year developing a strong local fan base. Young and old alike have been drawn to the songs and sound of Farewell To Kings. As more people are turned onto this band the title of best kept secret will someday be erased. |
