Artist description
Modern rock with an edge is the best way to describe Trace Element. A young band of four with great songwriting and musicianship, Trace Element possesses the drive to succeed in the music industry. Perhaps Andrew Winn of Agents Of Good Roots summed it up best at a recent show in New York City: "Trace Element has a great sound…a really full finished product…easily a band that can go far in the commercial music industry."
Formed in 1995 by singer/guitarist Matt Migliardi and bassist Andrew MacDonald, the two started the task of writing songs and learning to play their respective instruments. A few months later lead guitarist John Louis Lebreton joined the duo along with a drummer to create a full line-up. In early 1998 the band parted ways with their original drummer and hired Bob Azud to fill in. The four have been together ever since.
Over the years Trace Element has been perfecting its live show, seeing them perform with many national and regional acts such as The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Agents of Good Roots, Run-DMC, and Dispatch. The band plans to tour steadily through the Spring of 2002 in the New York and New England areas. A return to the studio is set for mid-2002 to record their follow up CD.
The band has also released their first full-length CD. Fans have been raving over the self-titled disc since its release in September 2000. With songs such as "The One They Call Good" with it's save the day outlook on hero worship to the angst filled "Prime", a hopeful song about redirecting a horribly off track lifestyle, the disc features Trace Elements catchy, original, straight-ahead rock sound.
