Artist History Kadence formed its roots in the autumn of 2000 with the songwriting prowess of guitarist/vocalist, Scott Starr, later collaborating with classical violist Shauncey Ali. Through mutual friends, Starr was introduced to self-taught pianist Teddy Pedriana. What was originally intended to be a solo project, melted its way into an eight song demo featuring all three musicians. The project was entitled "Caught in a Butterflynet." The following year, Starr coincidentally stumbled upon childhood friend, Jeff Bail. Starr and Bail then became roommates on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. Soon after, Bail adopted a full time bass role and gained a key position in the group. The quintet was completed when a long awaited drummer was found in Luis Santana. Finally, piece by piece, the band's sound developed and Kadence was born.
