Artist History The White Sock Theory is the brainchild of Marc Waithe, a musician and composer based in the New York City area. This project has its roots in the final days of Waithe’s previous band Abstract, a great New York City area band, in the early 90's. As Abstract started to splinter, personal and musical differences, etc, etc, Waithe began constructing his own tracks, merging his love of grinding guitar riffs to his growing interest in electronic soundscapes and rhythms. The combination of these elements forms the basis of The White Sock Theory sound, first heard on "A Disease Yet To Come ", and more recently on his new cd, "INTERNAL ARTS." The music is comprised of the best elements of industrial, ambient and world music, in the broadest sense. Introspective, cinematic and dark, yet filled with beauty and power as well. Blending commercial appeal and underground credibility this music can go father then anything like this before, even Nine inch Nails. Think of it as Nine Inch Nails mixed with African rhythms boiled in the pain of everyone. The lyrics offer insight into the deepest recesses of the human condition, holding up a mirror to that part of yourself that maybe you don’t want to let out. The White Sock Theory has had tracks released on a number of independent compilations, most notably the legendary, German industrial label Zoth Ommog. Waithe is currently looking for a record deal with a Company that is interested in being on the cutting edge of music sonically and visually and ideologically. He is a professional Audio engineer and Video producer and has Ideas that will wake up the industry.
