Artist History The Blues may have started in the Mississippi Delta but you can find them in Pennsylvania too. Rich is a solo artist who plays in the classic blues style of providing your own rythmn while playing the melody on another part of the guitar or with a harp.Rich plays his songs in a variety of styles including fingerpicking and slide guitar. But he shines the most when he breaks out the harp and cuts loose. His songs range from the straight forward blues to the more soleful acoustic ballads that venture far from the blues realm.Rich has been playing harp since he was eight. His parents got him one as a "toy" but Rich took it to heart. He added the playing guitar in high school so he could accompany himself and sing. The slide guitar came later as Rich ventured deeper into blues. Rich can usually be found playing local gigs from Altoona to Greensburg.

All of Rich Barber's songs are excellent. Rich Barber uses Drone Notes on Guitar Very Effectively. Al his Guitar Playing is to the highly accomplished level. I'm sure his local performances are well attended. He is a great Musical Act. "Corolla Blues" by Rich Barber is must listening for those who love the Slide Blues. He does some very nice stuff on this recording which is a pure instrumental. The mark of a Good Guitarists is to be able to do pure instrumental music, no vocals, to make him sound good. Rich Barber certainly is a guitarist who can hold your attention with Guitar Alone. However, the Guitar he plays with his vocals, is wonderfully artistic music.
