Artist History
LURE materialised in November 1995. Tyler and Derrick had been previously playing together for a few months. With a solid rhythm connection now established, they decided to assimilate a new member and create a band ... enter Kyle Dunn, the guitarist for LURE. Derek and Kyle had been partners in previous musical projects, and his rapport within the group was immediate. The three of them meshed well...writing and creation of song material soon followed. The name's origin is from a fishing trip Tyler and Derrick were taking in 1995. While in the car, they passed the time by discussing fishing tackle and music. It was not long until LURE surfaced and was chosen as the name for the project.LURE has created an innovative heavy sound that has successfully built a faithful fan base and following in their local scene. LURE has performed in a variety of venues, from small clubs that hold 100 people to large halls with capacities of over 1,000 people. LURE has opened for many reputable local and out of town talents, as well as successfully headlining many of their own shows. They have been able to win over crowds, in each of these venues by performing with a consistent high energy and intensity that is rarely seen. Whether they are first or last talent on the marquee. This is also reflected in feedback from the media and in show reviews. |
