I'm told (and read the review), Jane's Addiction, but I don't want to sound like anybody else, I want to sound like me. |

Artist History
Fernachur is two bands, a live band, and a studio band. Formerly Aunt GertRude, Fernachur has been together now for about 3 years, we made this record, we play local shows, we just like to groove and jam. Aunt GertRude begat Fernachur when George had to go and try something different, something more personal. Took some Aunt GertRude recordings and re-worked them and released a small quantity of our self-titled debut in 1997. Since then we've been working as a three piece. Ready to rock, ready to roll. |

Press Reviews
Metronome Magazine, October 1999 Review by Douglas Sloan - Fernachur is one of the most original bands I've heard in quite a while. Band leader George Gides' unusual gender-bending voice is the first in a line of many idiosyncrasies that make this quartet (and sometimes trio) stand apart from the rest. Cited as Gides' partner in crime, the Reverend Danny Horrid along with bassist Bob Bertolino and drummer Jim Weston bring this band full circle with their resourceful yet often times peculiar contributions. But that's what makes Fernachur work. They sound exactly like what Jane's Addiction would have sounded like today. Mesmerizing, enigmatic and mystical, Fernachur is one of my favorite new bands. Check them out!!! |
