Artist History
With a vocal dexterity and verse reminiscent of madrigals and troubadours, the music of Esther Valentine is emotionally charged and powerfully delivered with its memorable choruses and lush, liquid harmonies. It's simple, yet intricate, and philosophical, yet poetic, she sings of things seemingly forgotten (friendship, truth, the politics of every day life, dare I say love?), as well as many other things. Esther has worked with, amongst others, David Kershenbaum(Tracy Chapman's prod.), Paul Buckmaster (Elton John'sarranger), and Marc Tanner (prod., Shawn Colvin), Richard Burgess (keyboards, Kate Bush),and has numerous CD, film and TV credits. She is now pleased to release her long-awaited CD entitled "Can't Watch Yourself Dance." Listen, look, read along, and it will take you on an intoxicating journey, complete with compelling music, powerful lyrics, and beautiful Dali-esque artwork. What people said/are saying: "great songwriter," -former prod. for Pink Floyd; "positively divine," -Karen Goldman, best selling author of "The Angel Book," & "Angel Voices;" "I love all the elements in Esther's songs" - Muse Magazine; "Beautiful," - Parisian on the street, "Great voice" - Al Bundy; "@!#*!!*" - Mickey Hart (2nd cousin, really); "brings me back to the time when I listened to an album for days!
