    Artist History
d'hiver mort was conjured in the spring of 1998 by Synthea Dreamsinger and Samedi Bloodletter after they left an unsatisfying black metal project. With Dianavere on vocals and bass, they recorded their first album, Elegium In Obitum Veriis, in the winter of 1998; this little disc, created on a budget of less than $500 and recorded in Synthea's living room, has since found its way to many (usually very strange) people in many lands. the cultes d'hiver mort have also been busy tormenting audiences with their special brand of pain-inducing midrange cacophony (we call it 'music'), played against a backdrop of pretty dead girls, devil-worship, severed heads, and much, much worse. The cult's newest incaranation features Synthea and her newest consort, FearSore. They have recently released their latest album, 'PALINDROME,' on Deadworld Records.

    Press Reviews
"This sixteen track CD includes songs by: D'HIVER MORT (aka Disintegration Chamber/Slave to Synthea), INTEGRITY 236, and URSULA-X. D'hiver Mort provide the first ten tracks delivered here, and they're the best this compilation has to offer. These ten songs are dark, evil and intense. They blend haunting goth moods with metal guitars and industrial electronics. They feature a combination of deep dreary male growling and beautifully soothing female singing. There's a lot happening in these songs that keep them interesting from start to finish. The variety throughout is what makes these tracks stand out so much. There are layers upon layers of different instruments and electronic programming combined to create great rhythms, beats and harmonies. The emotions twist and turn every step of the way with calm moments turning into psychotic fits of rage. I have always liked unpredictable music, and that's exactly what D'hiver Mort is delivering here. They manage to mix so many different musical styles into one and make it work extremely well." -- wrapped in wire"...not worth mentioning..." -- bloodstain dusk"it sound like hacksaw..." -- gabriel ogbonna"Well this is really a compilation CD but D'hiver Mort was the band that sent it to me so I figured I'd put their name with the review. Also their side projects Disintegration Chamber and Slave to Synthea also Integrity 236 and Ursula-X are featured on this CD. D'hiver Mort are a gothic industrial band out of Huntsville Alabama. Odd place for industrial especially of the gothic kind. As most readers know I'm an avid fan of industrial and have been for quite some time. I definitely see a lot of potential in D'hiver Mort's material. "Angel" reminds me a bit of older Leaetherstrip material at times. Really the only thing I believe that their material is lacking is perhaps a better sounding recording; each track doesn't capture the moods and individual characteristics of the sounds. In other words the mix is extremely dense sounding which makes the presentation seem not as professional. But all that aside this is a great industrial act. Sometimes I think people within the industrial movement (if it's a movement) take themselves slightly too seriously what with the dark clothing, the vomiting outlook on religion, and the overall attitude of "I'm too deep for you to understand me". This all leads to an overall self-persecution of ideals. I have no idea why I just put those thoughts into this review. However 2 minutes into "Fall, Winter" they have an attack of heaviness with huge howls and devilishly fast drums. "Mirror" is quite old school sounding with the 80's synths. If you like Leaetherstrip or older industrial music than you'll dig this stuff. I sure as hell do."--Smother E-Zine
