Artist History
Throughout the pass several years, God has been renewing in his people a hunger for worship. He is calling for His cheldren to meet together and celebrate in his presence. In hopes of becoming invovled in this movement, Timber was formed in august of 1998.
As students at Biola University, Timber began leading worship on campus as well as at camps, confrences, retreats and concerts throughout Southern California. Timber found themselves leading worship for groups as small as 8 to groups as large as 8,000.
With such growing need and desire for worship, God opened doors for Timber to lead worship on a full-time basis, and Timber began to travel throughout the West Coast from Seattle to San Diego.
Beyond touring and enjoying a three-month residency at Hume Lake Christian Camps leading worship for their winter season, Timber has been able to spend time recording.
Their first album, Titled "Reverence" teamed them with nationally-know worship leader, Todd Proctor. A live album, entitled "Singspiration" shortly followed, capturing a night of worship at Biola University. Timber's first, and much anticipated full length album, featuring all original worship songs, was released independently in January of 2002 and soon to be released nationally as well.
Striving to always broaden the worship experience, Timber has brought in fresh interactive mediums such as video, symbolic imagery, and sensory tools. In their live "concerts of worship", these elements help people focus on who God is, what He has done, and where He is moving now amidst His people.
The band's website -www.timberworship.com- has generated a large response not only as a website for the band, but as a resource tool for worship leaders and students of worship.
Along these same lines, Timber has incorporated as non-profit in order to ensure that the ministry of leading a people into authentic worship.
