Artist History
Oscar grew up in Sweden and started playing the trombone at the age of ten.
He began his musical carreer in "da capo" - a windorchestra through the musicschool in Vaxjo.
When Oscar was twelve he moved with his family to Belgium where he continued band playing in
various formations, among others Koninklijke Fanfare Volksopbeuring Massemen, Brussels Concertband
and United Voices.
After high-school graduation Oscar took his trombone to Boston and Berklee College of Music where
he majored in Music Business/Management.
At the same time he continued to study trombone with mentors like Phil Wilson, Hal Crook, Jeff Galindo,
Tiger Okoshi, Lin Biviano and Charles Lewis. Graduating with a Summa Cum Laude, Oscar moved down to
Nashville where he currently is a graduate student at Middle Tennesee State University. While getting his masters in Jazz Studies he continues to play around town with different bands. He has made
several appearences with Roger Spencer, Lori Mechem, April Barrows and Jim White, and is a member of halfbrass and Christina Watson Band. |
