Artist History
the band originally formed under the name The Condemned in the late 80's. The original lineup now forgotten was only changed once, when the old bass player left. After recording one demo consisting of 4 songs, the band changed it's name to Ghange. For some reason the singer at the time thought this would be a neato name. It was shortly after changed again to Negative State. The line-up unchanged since the first 4 song demo recorded 2 names ago was Napalm, Doug, Steve and Jef. They recorded numerous times, usually during band practice as part of their improvistational creation process. These songs would then be listened to and refined musically and within the lyrics as well. The band was unable to record the refined versions of any of these songs before disbanding forever. Napalm went on to the short-lived band Sun Region, Steve left music altogether, Jef and Doug formed a two-man experimental drum and noise group called StrictNein. They disbanded a year later. None of the band's members are together anymore. This rare glimpse into badly produced punk rock is being put up for your enjoyment by some of the former band members as a tribute to all the bands that never could seem to stay together... even though they all really wanted to play music.
Out of all the recordings made, these are the only ones that survived.
There has been talk from time to time of the band getting back together and performing the dozen or so songs that comprised the band's playlist and recording them as they were meant to be, but there are only two members who desire this reunion, and both live in different states at this time. It is highly unlikely that the band will ever perform again. These 2 songs are all that survived from the numerous recordings that were made. |
