Artist description
MPDP begins in Boulder, Colorado weaving mathematical theory, physical intuitions, Boolean logic, and raw furious talent into the most intellectually challenging local music. High-energy particle physics laboratory researcher Joe (guitar) and rocket scientist Dave (bass) meet at a quantum field theory colloquium. Music writing commences. Atypical syncopated rhythms developed, weaving complex countermelodies into harmonious points and counterpoints. Bridging the intellectually curious to the aesthetically pleasing, pulmonary bio-researcher, Lori (vocals) becomes the third half of the MPDP triad. Finally, polygonal object manipulator, Mike, creates the ether for MPDP manifestations. MPDP teases with altered time signatures, laying back into progressive folk, all the while carrying melodic expressions. MPDP keeps the listener returning for more. We released our current demo CD in April 2002.
