    Artist description
The Underminers are a new duo out of Ballarat, Victoria, featuring ex-Dead Salesmen vocalist Justin 'Happy' Hayward and guitarist Chris Morris The Underminers sound is a mixture of heartfelt and intimate lyrics, strong guitar lines and groove-laden electronica, courtesy of Melbourne-based production house Interstate 40 Music Both Justin and Chris had been playing as a duo in Ballarat when approached in 2001 by Andrew Coates (ex-Foil vocalist and programmer) of local virtual label Interstate 40 Music to remix and produce a few songs. The results quickly transformed into a full album of highly original songs, with assistance from guest musicians in bassist Adam Cunha (from San Francisco-based power pop outfit Helium Angel) and Gregory Day Programmed in San Francisco and recorded in Melbourne in late 2001 and early 2002, the resulting nine track debut LP 'Let's Get T-Shirts Made' represents a major musical departure for Justin Hayward after the Dead Salesmen, melding beautiful, heartfelt lyrics with catchy riffs and mutated hip-hop beats
