Artist History
Ten Tiers begins with its individuals and ends with the collaboration of those individuals. Take the lead singer and head songwriter, a man with a distinct 70s songwriter and classic rock influence like that of Neil Young and David Bowie. The drummer and producer's main influences are 90s alternative and pop music that is popular but defies all definitions of pop like Alice in Chains and Radiohead. Then there's the keyboardist slash saxophonist, where the folk pop of Barenaked Ladies and Counting Crows have influenced his musical style. Put these players and styles together and out comes Ten Tiers, a sound that is unclassifiable and unique yet still very vivid and compelling. The rules were simple: To find something musically unique and to never discount an idea, always try it and see how it sounds. It started as a recording project. That was close to a year and a half ago. As confidence grew among the members of Ten Tiers, so did the goals. Ten Tiers has since taken its music to the live scene, playing Denver, boulder, Fort Collins and Summit County over the last 10 months. They have self-produced a six song demo cd, developed their own website and listening portals through mp3.com. This summer Ten Tiers will be playing several high profile shows including music festivals as well as traveling to Southern California for a tour which involves a video shoot with liveUnsigned. A full length cd is expected by year's end. |
