Artist description
I'm not an 'artist' as such. I write Rock, Blues
and Pop songs as a hobby. I started recording my
own material since the autumn of 2001,
when I bought a digital recorder.
I play rhythm guitar and a little solo,
I have played rhythm in a cover-band for a couple
of years. I now run my own little group called Dairybeat.

Artist History
I was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 1947.
I joined the Royal Dutch Navy when I was 16, on
a 6 years contract. On my second trip in 1964,
I started to play a little guitar, with the help
of a chords-book. I struggled along, or didn't
play at all, until I was 49. By then I retired for
50%. Suddenly I had more time at my disposal,
and at nearly the same time I received a nice
bonus. With the money I bought a Gibson J100 Extra.
I took a few guitar lessons, and they opened up
the world of Tones and Transposing music to me.
In 1998 I joined a Cover-band. Because I had to
play and practise a lot more, I started to play
better. But as music is my hobby, I didn't enjoy
the 'band-stress', arguments etc., so I quit
the band in 2001. Since then it's just me,
with help on vocals of my sister Babs; with new
on Lead vocals, since Sept. 2003: Sandra.
I met my Scottish wife Avril, in Spain in
the summer of 1970. She was 19 and I was 23. We
married 7 month later, and we're still going
strong. Avril and/or I, both write lyrics for
the songs that I made and still hope to make. |
