Artist History
Originally formulated in late 1997 with his departure from Philadelphia area favorite Steamroller Picnic, Ted Richardson wrote and produced his fledgling CD, Organicmechanic, under the moniker Hunkpapa. Although released through Milkboy Records as a way to attract major record label interest, Organicmechanic quickly became a local favorite, selling thousands of units, along with gaining notice within the industry. To support the CD, Hunkpapa began touring the east coast, with frequent bus trips to NYC, unfailingly expanding it’s audience past expectation.
With change comes evolution, and with evolution comes progress. From 1999 thru 2001, Ted Richardson recorded and produced a vast catalog of material at his Philadelphia based studio, Pig Pen Recording. From this collection lie forthcoming CD’s, and with the bands reformation into its current lineup, Ultrahuman are prepared to rekindle and exceed it’s past reputation.
