Artist History
Growing up on oldies and classic rock, Kurt learned to appreciate the classics. He started to grow onto more modern music during the early nineties with the one hit wonders of The Rembrants, Deep Blue Something, Gin Blossoms, etc. Also learning of contemporary eighties music as well. As the years past, Kurt grew into the more current brands of rock. Discovering bands for himself like Orgy, Cold, Weezer, and Kill Hannah, Kurt decided that he wanted to play bass in a band of those genres. When Kurt was 13, he got his first setup of turntables and a mixer. Kurt and his friends formed a band where he acted as a turntablist and a keyboardist. The band went next to no where, putting out only a few songs, not making a CD or playing any shows at all. Recording a single song demo and uploading it to their site. The band went on "hiatus" as it still is considered to be today. Kurt started widening his music interests, picking up on rap, classical, dance, electronica, and country. DJ Kurt started an electronica group that consisted of him, Jordan Allen, and Jacob Gull (Proglar), both of which had involvement with the previous band, Jammed Fingers. The dream ended quickly. DJ Kurt realized that no one had the same passion for making his music that he did. He set out solo in hopes of producing something above expected. DJ Kurt is listed as strictly experimental, with influences and styles gathered from everywhere. Kurt put out 3 songs of gathered audio sampling and drum programming before realizing what he had been doing wrong. Kurt scrapped everything, various support such as AIM6000.com and Blue Slushie kept Kurt striving for some original flavour. Kurt began to teach himself to play guitar. With the impending release of his newest CD, "Keep The Crap For The Toilet", DJ Kurt has gathered some of his originals and some of his exclusive remixes to put on a CD of their own, entitled "DJ KURT 2002". Many wonder what will happen after Kurt puts out the two...well, he'll just start making another one!

Press Reviews
"In some senses, DJ Kurt's current record 'Keep The Crap For The Toilet', is an oxy-moron in itself. DJ Kurt proves well that he is still learning in the art of music production, I can say to expect good things from him in the future." |
