Artist description
michael plays the old piano and sings. and sits at his window watching the animated spanish family across the street. and occasionally engages in self-destructive behavior, but not so much you want to tell him to stop. he is an insomniac and feared by flies everywhere for his killing prowess. he has all the requisite emotional baggage of a good singer-songwriter. he writes and plays music with the window wide open. that's as good as it gets, folks. |

Artist History
michael grew up in the great state of south carolina. south carolina is a diverse and beautiful state that would be a wonder of a place if it weren't still reeling in poverty from the post-traumatic stress of the civil war and america's insistence on keeping the south poor and ashamed of itself. sorry, i'm reading some history books right now and i can't help it. |

"michael flynn could very well be the next paul westerberg, for the sake of comparison, and i can't hardly wait." --eric crays, mojo (charlotte)
"The best new songwriter I've heard in ten years" -- John Boylan, Producer
"I became a fan the moment I heard Michael play." --Kevin So, Singer/Songwriter
"The images in Michael Flynn's songs are things we've felt a thousand times but were never able to express. The lyrics do what good literary poetry is supposed to do-- lay it out, clean, surprising yet comfortable, shockingly intimate. When we listen, we are taken where good music is supposed to take us-- into and out of ourselves." --Paul Allen, Poet
"World class songwriting with razor-edge performance; Michael Flynn's success is assured. This career will be fun to watch" --Livingston Taylor,
Singer/Songwriter
