Artist History Through 17+ years of playing guitar and music education, me has collected a variety of styles and even a scizophrenic crisis of musical identity evident in any track list or even some single songs. Deeply wounded by the death of 80's rock and metal, me withdrew from technical lead-style playing and also popular influences of the early 90's to craft deeply personal songs to express his world of isolation and to inspire a sense of peace within himself. Having failed to create music he felt was both sincere (without giving away too much of his secret turmoil) and musically viable, me abandoned his musical endeavors in 1998. His sense of reason and his intellect (which he refers to as his "better half") had won out and secured him a "successful" career in technology. Me was contentedly miserable, or maybe miserably content. Come 2001, with the catastrophic failure of entire segments of the economy, his company had gone belly- up and me found himself laid off. This paled in comparison to the realization that his inner demons were as strong as ever and threatening to destroy his sanity if not dealt with properly. With careful inner reflection (and professional help) me questioned his values and sought what was most important to him. It amounted to recognizing the urgency to (re)connect with people - family, friends, lovers - from past and present, whether in life or in song. With this resurgence of sentiment and relationships, me had rediscovered his voice and identity. What followed quite naturally was his love for music and the urge to create it.
