Artist description
After four years of writing and recording, 30 year old multi-instrumentalist, Dave Stephens is proud to present: Sketches for: Here We Go, a bold adventure into the world of pop nostalgia.
Native to Vancouver, Dave grew up listening to a variety of musical styles from the Beatles and Supertramp to Billy Joel and Led Zeppelin. It's no surprise that such schooling in the pop genre led Dave to producing music with the same harmonic and melodic sensibilities to which these pop legends were known. "I grew up listening to songs in the back seat of my mom's car." says Dave, "I find a lot of my tastes were developed at an early age. It was the greats like Billy Joel and Supertramp that made me who I am today. That and a lot of A.M. radio." Of his debut album, Dave speaks plainly, "Sketches was born of sincerity. The album speaks mostly of life's unexpected changes. The dismantling of a first love and the questions it brings."
Love and love lost, a subject matter never too old to revisit, and with Dave at the helm of his production company, Greenwire Music, he can only be promised a bright future.
