Artist History
10 Heads High, the New York City based pop rock band, began as a partnership in 1999 by two well-practiced songwriters, singer Marc Lombardo and guitarist Tommy Kohl. They had gained a reputation among local musicians as co-guitarists in a previous band, but had yet to showcase their songwriting. The two set out to craft an album's worth of hard-edged radio-friendly music, and as they started to record their first demos it became apparent that Lombardo's voice naturally suited the material. Michael Borenstein was the first and only bassist to audition for the band and has, over the last couple of years, became an important part of the sound and live energy of 10 Heads High. After an exhaustive search and several dozen auditions throughout the winter of 2001-2002, 10 Heads High found the final piece of the puzzle in drummer Brian King.
The combination of Kohl's powerful chord textures and Lombardo's alluring melodies are surely tailored for commercial modern rock radio. Previous self-released singles such as the propulsive My Summertime, the swirly, hook-laden Celebrated and the revved up attitude-fest Stepchild of a Genius have already been embraced by college radio as well as receiving airplay on major unsigned band showcases such as Q104-NY's "Out of the Box". Boasting a strong internet presence that has earned them fans around the world, 10 Heads High have landed the "Featured Artist" distinction on Loudenergy.com, frequently placed high in the Unsigned Artist charts on RollingStone.com and most recently, were named "Starving Artist of the Week" on Loudandfound.com, among other honors. While quick to acknowledge 10 Heads High's originality, reviewers have suggested various comparisons among modern hit-makers like Stone Temple Pilots, Foo Fighters, Fuel, Lit, and Our Lady Peace, and have remarked that the 10 Heads High sound owes a nod to such arena-rock legends as Led Zeppelin, Cheap Trick and The Who.
After a particularly ferocious live performance down in NYC's lower east side, 10 Heads High were approached by production team Claudius Mittendorfer and Bart Migal. Within a week, they were hard at work capturing the live essence of 10 Heads High on tape. The initial sessions were split between NYC studios, The Hit Factory and Sound On Sound, and resulted in the current single Autofly/Mending Wall. Currently, 10 Heads High are back in the studio with Mittendorfer and Migal, working on their full-length debut album, due to be completed summer 2002. In between sessions, 10 Heads High continue to captivate audiences throughout the tri-state area with their unique brand of crunchy, hooky, energetic rock.

Press Reviews
(On Celebrated:) "Rating: 10 Awesome !!!! Great intro, kind of 1st LP Cheap Trick. Chorus is just AMAZING. Classic middle 8. Overall, this is one of the best tunes I've heard in a LOOOONNGGGG time!!! This deserves to be heard blasting out of every car radio, period!"
Producer Ted Niceley, Loudenergy.com
"Trends come and go, but for those of us who love Rock and Roll and are energized, invigorated and seduced by a guitar riff, a groove, and a vocal, press play and watch the goosebumps rise on your arm and smile... 'cause some people know what's cool and cool has always been what it's about."
Lea Powell, Citiviews.com
"'I've got to work hard/to make it look easy/'cause I'm the stepchild of a genius.' That's a clever lyric right there, ironic and on the cusp of tongue-in cheek poignancy at the same time. Stepchild of a Genius starts out as a promising mid-tempo rock song with an Under My Wheels drum fill intro and a fairly hooky hard rock guitar riff. Considering what gets played on the radio they'll probably be all over Total Request Live any minute now. You heard it here first."
Gail Worley, Starpolish.com
"10 Heads High deliver polished radio-friendly rock that is neither too redundant nor too ambitious. My Summertime will find an audience, even if it can't find a distinguishing niche."
Jean Gismervik, Rolling Stone
