Artist History Demotic just celebrated it's 2nd birthday. Demotic was born out of San Diego, California with Jeff Bolin, Nick Tripzen, Bobby J, David Winn, and Keith Smithers. They formed in the Summer of 2000 as a cover band, covering mostly Incubus, Staind, and inDEFinitely Deftones, then it got to the point where they wanted to write their own original music. During the fall of 2000, Demotic began writing their own songs musically based on bands such as the Deftones, SevenDust, and a little Creed. Less than a year later they entered into a Battle of the Bands contest and won 1st place which landed them into a recording studio where they eventually produced their debut album Epitome in 2001. Currently, Demotic is working on a new album for Fall 2002.
