Artist History
Jon Sterckx is a multi - percussionist specialised in Indian Tabla, but also experiences in other forms of non-western percussion, such as Middle Eastern and West African drumming. Since the mid - 90's, he has concentrated mainly on Tabla, which he has studied both in India and in the UK. Jon takes a contemporary approach to his playing, combining elements of these traditions with his own compositional ideas and playing techniques.He also plays with the fusion ensemble Dhani.
Russell Harris is a UK based musician who, since the mid-80's has specialised in the musical systems of the Middle East and North India. Russell has studied Indian and Iranian percussion in the UK, and Turkish lutes in Konya, Turkey. He has collaborated with many artists and composers from various musical genres, and is a founder member of Middle Eastern music ensemble Bazigah.
