Artist History
"There is no limit to the well in which to draw inspiration. There is no reason that great
pop music can't be written in all musical genre. From a stark hip hop drum track to the
most complex jazz progressions great melodies tie you to the music your are hearing.
Only melody will captivate(capture) your ear and keep you tuned in to a song. The light
of inspiration is what drives me everyday."
The Silverfish is the moniker/band name for Stan Dembowski the sole creator of
the songs you are about to hear. Stan is from the Chicagoland area and writes music with
hints of funksouljazzblues into singable, danceable pop music. "Like rock was derived
from rhythm and blues; and disco comes from soul/funk, my music comes from the
cumulative blend of the 1950's through the year 2003 without a direct link to any one
particular genre."
Stan has spent the last 12 years writing music with five different bands. Metal to
Alternative to Americana to Neo-Soul to Alt-Country and now The Silverfish Music.
Concentrating solely on hooks and strong melody. This music is equally accessible to all
listeners and fits into AAA/Pop/Hot AC musical genre. "Because I've played in so many
various bands I'm pretty tuned into what a wide variety of people want to hear. They
want you to scream and smash, yet want your to be sensitive, passionate, sexy and caring.
They want to feel your soul and also give them room to see themselves." Stan is
currently completing his band with the finest musicians in Chicago.
Residing in the sick and weird world of Prince and a few others, Stan writes and
plays all the instruments on this demo. Self produced and recorded artists tend to lack
something. Wallowing or actually drowning in the vast possibilities and missing the
complete band feel. This is the true test of objectivity. To listen to each instrument for
the greater good of the song. Blaa...Blaaa... Anyway I think/hope you'll be pleasantly
surprised. |
