Artist description Elixyr is an original acoustic rock group from Des Moines, Iowa. With a five piece rock outfit and acoustic instruments, this band has created it's own rock sound.

Artist History Brandon Glenn, Jordan Josephsen and Nate Carlson started out as a three piece acoustic band called R'orshak. This quickly changed to Caravan Flannel and after the dismissal of frontman Nate Carlson, Brandon and Jordan soon joined another group called Don't Stop the Carnival. Having a distaste for Emo Brandon and Jordan soon split from the group taking their lead guitarist Matt Zeigenfuss with them. This incarnation of the three piece acoustic idea became Bittersweet. Once they came to the realization that none of them could sing, they went scouting for a singer. At an open-mic night they soon spotted Bob Swanson. From their they became Elixer. After doing an internet search several gigs later they discovered that the name was already taken by a grunge band in Boston, hence the change to Elixir. After making quite the name for themselves as Elixir, they soon found that a blues band from Davenport, Iowa was making that same name for themselves. However the two bands never crossed paths so they never did anything about it, until... a group funded by Gore Strings (Elixir strings) trademarked the name and served a sieze and desist order. Hence the trademarked name Elixyr. To this day the same great original acoustic rock is being made, although the band has been through four drummers and two lead guitarists. They have however settled on Matt Zeigenfuss (back from a love hiatus in Minneapolis) on lead guitar, and Ben Williams on drums.
