Press Reviews
Acoustic Sing Along Vol. 4 reviews: I must admit I was surprised at the naked innocence of many of the songs on Vol. 4! Plus, I like using the word naked. First of all, great vocals - the harmonies are dandy...to the point where they actually gave me chills. Good job. I didn't realize Jeff had such sappy power. These are good ol' love songs through-n-through. My favorite is "Silence", it has a great poppy feel, I found myself humming it to myself on occasion (these harmonies are among my favorite as well). Oh yeah, your secret track 13 was a very polite picking instrumental piece. "I'll Never Forget You" - I like the way the strumming rhythm and vocals play off each other during the refrain.

I really am so happy I got this demo! The songs are incredible! I would venture to say that Jeff's strengths really lie in his acoustic work. That's because the music is beautiful and meaningful as well as *true*. That's the nature of acoustic...you can't hide the emotions behind a full-on orchestration. Not to say the BAND stuff isn't incredible too, it's just that it's a different kind of incredible. The music on this really touched me. I don't know how much weight that holds but if nothing else, I hope you realize that Jeff's music has affected someone who (due to the nature of her profession) is quite jaded on popular music.

grey reviews: Once again I am thoroughly impressed with the range this young man has. Not only can he just captivate an audience with a simple stool, microphone, guitar and voice, but with this new release, he is able to mix in some elements of techno, harmony and kick-ass licks, showing once again, that this boy can ROCK! Over all, this effort is definately more developed with fuller vocals, backed up with a full band sound, not just the guitar. At first, it wasn't exactly what I was expecting (something more acoustic) but after a few listens, I started noticing how each production element (guitar, drums, bass and techno beat) came together to give it a definate Joe Satriani flavor. Being compared to Joe Satriani is no mean feat! Magic fingers, Jeff! Also, Redefined is a great toe-tapper! The Wedding Song is truly beautiful! I really didn't get a good feel for the song at the wedding where it was performed but now that I've gotten a chance to really listen to it, it's beautiful.A reprise of one of my favorite songs, Silence! Once again, heart-wrenching with a haunting backing vocal. Gorgeous! Song writing can be truly revealing of the songwriter, making them feel vulnerable, but with this project what is truly revealed is Talent, Emotion that's relatable and Musical fulfillment. What an accomplishment!
