Artist History In the seventh month of 1999, Tides of Mars was conceived. Brandishing a new style of rock/metal they called “trance metal,” they began to invade the public consciousness. They blended the styles of thousands who came before them, from all around the world. The songs began to pile up, reaching well in excess of a hundred. They developed a powerful, energetic stage presence that was arresting, hypnotic, and entrancing. Something important was happening. And it still is, more than ever. Huge guitars, intricate keyboards, thundering rhythm, lush vocal harmonies, compelling, powerful lyrics, piles of hooks, and above all, the Trance; trance metal is an experience.
