Artist History formed in march 2002, rateofdepress started with a vision of combining heaviness and melody, described by some as ‘groove metal’. the band set about writing for the first 5 months before making their live debut in september. this was quickly followed by support slots with SikTh, FONY, MAHUMODO, EDEN MAINE and BRUTAL DELUXE as well as more headlining dates, gaining them considerable praise and attention. the bands first cd, 'theRISEep' came out in september but failed to translate the immense live power of rateofdepress, but did catch the eye of record producer Rick Parkhouse who felt the band had the potential to achieve big things and took them to his studio to record their debut album entitled 'bleach the sky', the album is awaiting release and looks to be the start of big things for the band from the south coast of england who have already attracted record company interest. if you haven't witnessed the phenomenon that is rateofdepress yet, prepare to be amazed.....
