Artist History
Purgatory's root grew out of Mexico City in
1996 with Iņaki V. Torres, singer/song writer.
The band decided to move to the United States to
promote their sound. Loosing two members in the
move, the struggle to find and build a core
essence began in 1998.
The rebirth came when Columbian blood Eliezer
Taylor, a savant guitarist/song writer joined
the band. Producer/musician, fearless Damian
Renon gave Purgatory a home at "The Basement"
Studios where you can feel the heavy beats of
drummer Brian Lepker.
After three years of playing locally, Purgatory
found a following in the Latin community and
abroad. With limited forms of established
communication and means for bicultural/bilingual
audiences, playing live has become the focus of
the band.
With influences that stretch from Latin legend
Tito Puente to the unmistakable guitars of Led
Zeppelin, Purgatory's sound catches the soul
essence of two worlds that inevitably were bound
to collide. |
