Artist History
NoCore came to its existance near the end of 2001 when guitarist Chris Fajkos was looking for a band to showcase his musical talents. After posting an ad on the Pure Rock 106 site, singer Victor Berrios formerly of Scripture checked out his ad and they decided to jam out. Victor and Chris jammed, liked it, and decided to recruit a full band. Chris's brother Corey who played guitar and formerly in the band Audiogod, also had a played the drums, but had recently sold his kit for a half stack. Corey ended up selling his half stack to his brother Chris to buy a drum kit, hence NoCore's drummer was found. All that was left was the need for a bassist. NoCore tried out a few bass players, including Mike Jordan from Audiogod, but nobody seemed to fit in. Then one day while Corey was at work, he ran into Steve Matthews. Steve tried out for NoCore, and he fit perfectly as the last piece to the NoCore puzzle. NoCore was now complete. But eventually after a few months in the band they decided Steve wasn't the right person for NoCore and started the search for another bassist. Now NoCore has found a bassist and also now consists of a DJ.
NoCore received a short burst of exposure when they were accused of trash talking Sixth Time Sewn on STS's message board. Needless to say the person trying to jeopardize NoCore ended up boosting their popularity. NoCore played their first show on February 2nd, 2002 at the Main Event in Toledo, Ohio. Their response was unlike any band in Toledo's first show, and they were very well received. Watch them rise...
