    Artist History
DEATHPILE began in Denver, Colorado in November of 1995 as an experimental side project of DEAD WORLD's Jonathan Canady. This project grew out of Canady's work in the failed dark electronics group TORTURE CHAMBER between 1993 and 1995. The debut release for DEATHPILE was the Bloodlust! cassette "Random Acts of Cruelty". This recording combined styles ranging from ambient and death industrial to dark atmospheric power electronics and sold out quickly. After this debut Canady decided to dedicate his work in DEATHPILE exclusively to the power electronics genre. The release of "Random Acts..." prompted release offers from Slaughter Productions, Less Than Zero, and Self Abuse. After the recording of titles for these labels DEATHPILE began performing live on a regular basis and has since recorded many releases and played shows with other well known artists including: BLOODYMINDED, SLOGUN, ATRAX MORGUE, SKIN CRIME, THE EUGENICS COUNCIL (Rosemary Malign), DEATH SQUAD and LOCKWELD. Canady relocated to Philadelphia in early 2000 where he continues to record and perform live with with new DEATHPILE keyboardist David E. Williams.
