Artist History
Founded in 1996 (Utrecht, The Netherlands), Emscher has been exploring the Chicago ways (Slint, Shellac) of making noise. The release of Bauxhall (1998), a five track CD released by the independent Zabel Music label, is one of the headlights in the first Emscher years. Spring '98 Emscher moves to more unusual music making, after the Roland drummachine walks in. An exciting week: first the drummer is dismissed, a few days later reintroduced as the new bass player. The Emscher men march on, working hard, planning to release a next CD Fall, 1999. |
