Artist description
************* No 1 on MP3.com ********** ************** for THREE WEEKS! *********** Ember try to bring together over 40 years of popular music to a point, although their current sets spans many styles, there`s no mistaking Ember`s sound. A 5 peice guitar based lineup, laced with samples, loops, string quartets, sound effects, intro`s and outtro`s, Ember have continued to deliver a refreshing and heart stoping experience to sellout crouds all over London. Gary Pickards driving and spacious guitar work has already drawn international acclaim having worked with many well known artists worldwide. Although Ember sound farmiliar, it is hard to place them in any particular genre as all press reviews have admited, but hopefully, Ember will continue to forge their own path. |

Artist History
Ember was formed in December of `98 after the collapse of several bands. Within two months of writing, and a couple of four track demos slipped to London`s Radio 1 and XFM, Ember were already getting prime time airplay. Soon there was interest from record companies both in the UK and abroad and the band were unexpectedly swamped in media and A&R hype. Summer of `98 spawned a consensus amongst the band that the attention was premature, rejecting offers from abroad to retreat and concentrate on writing new material. Ember spent a patient six months doing just that. Having ditched much of the original material and introducing samples and strings to the live set, they finally emerged on new years day to play to sell out crowd at the Half Moon in SW London.
After the launch of Ember.co.uk in March, an unexpected and enthusiastic fan base began to gather from as far as Israel to Mexico, and have since increased presence on the web to cater for there new audience. Web Sales of their latest EP on @ Ember.co.uk and MP3.com are currently funding their first major album. |
